7. Waterhen River - Jarvis Lake (Gladue Lake) to Highway 903 Bridge
MOVING...a beautiful route that takes far less time than you might anticipate...the paddle starts off with some lake paddling for ~ 12 km through Jarvis (Gladue) Lake and Little Waterhen Lake... a south wind will hasten the transit through the lake systems...look for pelicans at the point in on the east side of Little Waterhen lake as you head north...there is a definite flow as you enter the Waterhen River portion of the route...look for the old historic cabins along the river section (including the derelict school bus)...another of the unique features of this segment is the moving islands of reed grass that float down the river...there are a short set of rapids at ~ 18.0 km which adds to the fun.

Access and parking: Good parking at several locations at the Flying Dust Jarvis Lake (Gladue Lake) camp site.
Start location: Flying Dust camp site at Jarvis (Gladue) Lake
Take out location: Bridge at Hwy 903 - back your vehicle down on the east side of the bridge to an obvious launch / take out site.
