11.  Flotten River - Flotten Lake to Waterhen Lake

MYSTERIOUS...a real pleasant route featuring a shaded and hidden, narrow, meandering channel amid a shaded creek system...lots of unexpected surprises around every turn...best suited for kayaks...the last 5 km is an exposed paddle on Waterhen Lake.

Length: ~ 16.5 km

Time of year:  All summer (mid-May to late September)

Experience required:  Novice

Noteworthy features:  A heavily shaded, winding route with various amounts of woody debris - be prepared to walk your kayak over beaver dams, etc. and the final section on Waterhen Lake can be windy.

Access and parking: Excellent access via Hwys 904 and 951 north of Dorintosh  - good parking at start and take out locations

Start location:  Flotten Lake Resort - parking and put in location is on the east side of the road in the small clearing opposite the resort

Take out location:  The old provincial campground on the west side of Waterhen Lake
