12. Makwa Lakes Chain
RELAXING...but yet thoroughly engaging...view the historic Steele Narrows Provincial Park and monument...catch a fish...find your own secluded bay and go for a swim...stop at Jumbo Beach for an ice cream cone...and the short portage near the end of the trip adds an additional challenge.

Noteworthy features: A complete package of history lesson, great paddling, diverse lake environments (at the start, the lake system has an open and expansive nature and then the second half of the trip is more secluded and treed), public beaches and of course lots of birdlife
Access and parking: Excellent access via Hwy 699 directly west of Loon Lake - good parking at the Steele Narrows Historic Site
